12. Why can I no longer purchase/upgrade to Pro?

__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q1: I lost Pro status. How do I get it back?
A1: This shouldn't be happening.
If you purchased the in-app upgrade from free to Pro (aka: Winamp Pro Bundle), simply uninstall & reinstall the latest free version
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ullsoft.winamp
As long as you are logged into the same google account on your phone that you originally made the purchase with,
then it will automatically recognize that you’ve already upgraded to Winamp for Android Pro.
If you purchased the separate Winamp Pro stub from Google Play, then uninstall both the stub and free version, and reinstall the stub
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...llsoft.prostub
Other than showing as a purchased app on Google Play (whereas the in-app upgrade only shows as a purchase under Google Wallet),
all that the Pro stub actually does, is to download and install the free version, but with the Pro features already unlocked.
Q2: What are the minimum hardware requirements for the Pro features?
A2: The Pro features require chipsets with the ARMv7 floating point instruction set.
Most Android devices from ~2011 onwards include this technology,
though some older devices do not, such as HTC Wildfire which has an ARMv6 chipset/cpu.
As from Winamp For Android Pro v1.3.x we have disallowed new Pro purchases on these older devices
and have also disabled the Pro features on detection of non-ARMv7 devices.
If you purchased Pro on one of these devices with an older version of the app,
then please use the 'contact developer' feature in Google Play to request a refund.
Be sure to include the Google Order No. in any correspondence.
Q3: Why aren't the widgets available when I move the app to SD card?
A3: 'Move to sd card' is a new feature in Winamp For Android v1.3.x
This is a known Android OS limitation issue which affects all apps:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8555
http://forums.androidcentral.com/and...s-sd-card.html
If anything can be done about it, then I assure you that we will implement it asap.
Q4: How can I change/update album art?
A4: If the correct art doesn't get transferred, or if Winamp/Android fails to find the correct art, and you don't want to purchase Album Washer...
then you can manually change the art as follows:
- Connect the phone/device in usb mode
- If you don't already have the correct art image, download it from google images / discogs.com / allmusic.com / gracenote / amazon / etc
- Copy the image to the same folder as the music files on your device.
Supported filenames (in order of precedence):
%AlbumTitle%.jpg (where %AlbumTitle% is the exact Album Title - see here for more info on how to replace illegal characters)
cover.jpg
front.jpg
album.jpg
albumart.jpg
Cover Art (front).jpg
folder.jpg
Supported filetypes:
.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif
(not case sensitive, eg. AlbumArt.jpg will also work)
Q5: I can't get wi-fi sync to work...
A5: From the Winamp app Home screen, press: Menu button >> Settings >> Select: 'Enable wireless sync'.
For more information on wireless syncing, please follow the tutorial:
http://blog.winamp.com/2010/11/30/wi...android-phone/
Note: When syncing is complete, you can turn off Enable WiFi sync in the Settings to optimize battery performance.
Q6. What file formats are supported natively in Winamp for Android?
A6: AAC, HE-AACv1, HE-AACv2, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, MP3, MIDI, Vorbis, PCM/WAVE, FLAC (Pro only)
Q7: How do I make Winamp respond to the headset controls?
A7: By default, Winamp will respond to headset controls only when the app is in focus (in view). To enable full headset controls so Winamp will respond even when the app is out of focus, go to Winamp Home >> Menu >> Settings >> and select 'Control headset'.
Q8: Winamp always causes the music to vibrate on my Samsung Galaxy S3. How do I disable this feature?

A8: Note that this is not a bug. It occurs if you enable the Auto Haptic feature (which is off by default) on the S3.
To disable it, you would need to either disable Auto Haptic or uncheck Winamp under the list of applications which respond to Auto Haptic.
More info and instructions can be found here:
http://blog.immersion.com/2012/06/autohaptic/
Q9. How do I get rid of duplicate listings and/or get Android/Winamp to rescan my media?
A9: There have been reports of users fixing this issue with a rescan and reboot of the device. This option may not exist on earlier Android OS versions.
a. Android Settings > Apps > All > Media Storage > Clear data
b. Shut down and restart the device
c. Allow some time for the Google media scanner to rescan the drives and recreate the media database (It may take a few minutes before Winamp is able to display tracks while the rescan is running)
Q10: I bought Winamp Pro for the desktop media player, do I still have to buy Pro on Android?
A10: Currently, Winamp Pro for Android and Winamp Pro for Windows PC versions are separate purchases. We are looking into the option of offering a bundled package.
Q11. How do I access the main menu and/or the extra Winamp Pro features?
A11: From the Winamp homescreen, press the hardware Menu button on your device.
Note that some newer phones (such as HTC One V) don't have a hardware menu button and require you to long press the App Switch button instead.
In this main menu you will see the extra Pro features such as: 'Customize Home' and 'Folders'.
The Equalizer may be listed under 'More...'. You can add it to the homescreen icons via 'Customize Home'.
The Replay Gain & Crossfade features can be enabled via the buttons in the bottom right corner of the EQ.
Manual play of radio streams can be accessed via: SHOUTcast > Manually Enter Station.
Note that only mp3 & aac streams are currently supported.
m3u playlists are also currently not supported (due to an Android limitation, though we do plan on adding support).
For now, you will need to find the direct stream url by opening the m3u playlist in Notepad first...
Q12. Why can I no longer purchase/upgrade to Pro?
A11: Winamp changed ownership from AOL to Radionomy in Dec 2013.
The old version of the app (including v1.4.15) contained AOL-licensed decoders & code which are no longer valid.
As a result, Winamp Pro is temporarily unavailable whilst we renew/replace said licenses/code/decoders.
We hope to release a new version as soon as possible with all features available again.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.
