When you set both a due date and a time for a task, Todoist automatically sets a reminder for you. For example, when you create a task for tomorrow at 4pm, Todoist will automatically send you a reminder 30 minutes beforehand. I've made a program to give you a global quick-add shortcut for the Todoist Windows 10 Desktop App Custom Project I've seen a few people that aren't happy with the lack of a global keyboard shortcut to quick-add a task in the new Todoist desktop app for Windows 10, so I've made a program to add it.

Since Todoist, its Windows 10 app doesn’t support global shortcuts at the moment. I made a small workaround that adds the “open Todoist” and “Add new Todoist task” global shortcuts to Win 10. These workarounds add the following global TODOIST shortcuts to WIN 10:

Installation Instructions

To install the Todoist global shortcuts, please perform the steps below:

  1. Download AutoHotKey.

  2. Install AutoHotKey.

  3. Download the Workaround.

  4. Unzip the Workaround file.

  5. Go to the “todoist-global-shortcuts-WIN10TODOIST_AHK” folder.

  6. Click on the installer.vbs file to install the workaround.

  7. Start AutoHotKey and the Todoist_global_shortcuts.ahk script (Found in the user-startup folder) or restart the PC for the changes to take effect.

FAQ

The workaround is not working what now

  • Make sure AutoHotkey is running on startup.
  • Ensure that you have the right user privileges to add files to your user-startup folder.
  • Still not working go to https://github.com/rickstaa/todoist-global-shortcuts-WIN10/issues
